Scattering from Sparse Potentials: a deterministic approach

چکیده
Completeness of the wave operators has been proven for a family of random Schrödinger operators with sparse potentials in the recent paper [17], using a probabilistic approach. As mentioned at Voss, a deterministic result in this direction can also be derived from a Jakšić–Last criterion of completeness [7] and Fredholm’s theorem. We present this approach. Face Recognition using an Affine Sparse Coding approach
Sparse coding is an unsupervised method which learns a set of over-complete bases to represent data such as image and video. Sparse coding has increasing attraction for image classification applications in recent years. But in the cases where we have some similar images from different classes, such as face recognition applications, different images may be classified into the same class, and hen...
متن کاملComparing Geostatistical Seismic Inversion Based on Spectral Simulation with Deterministic Inversion: A Case Study
Seismic inversion is a method that extracts acoustic impedance data from the seismic traces. Source wavelets are band-limited, and thus seismic traces do not contain low and high frequency information. Therefore, there is a serious problem when the deterministic seismic inversion is applied to real data and the result of deterministic inversion is smooth. Low frequency component is obtained fro...
متن کاملAzimuth Ambiguity Suppression for SAR Imaging based on Group Sparse Reconstruction
The classical methods for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) azimuth ambiguity suppression are based on deterministic methodologies. However, the reconstruction with azimuth ambiguity problem is underdetermined. In this paper, we present a group sparse modeling based approach in which the reflectivity of target is extended as group sparse signal and its components are jointly recovered by lq regula...
متن کاملFuzzy Inference System Approach in Deterministic Seismic Hazard, Case Study: Qom Area, Iran
Seismic hazard assessment like many other issues in seismology is a complicated problem, which is due to a variety of parameters affecting the occurrence of an earthquake. Uncertainty, which is a result of vagueness and incompleteness of the data, should be considered in a rational way. Using fuzzy method makes it possible to allow for uncertainties to be considered. Fuzzy inference system,...
متن کاملScattering by one-dimensional smooth potentials: between WKB and Born approximation
The paper discusses the applicability of WKB and Born (small perturbations) approximations in the problem of the backscattering of quantum particles and classical waves by one-dimensional smooth potentials with small amplitudes compared to the energy of the incident particle (above-barrier scattering). Both deterministic and random potentials are considered. The dependence of the reflection coe...
